How We Worship

How We Worship

The Ultimate Purpose:
Christians love to praise God because of who he is and what he has done. Nothing is more significant in the lives of God’s people than gathering together to sing, to hear the Bible read and taught, to pray, and to participate in the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Thus, the Sunday worship service is the church’s central event.

Respecting Our History:
Our worship is “traditional.” By that word we mean to emphasize our respect for the past workings of God’s Holy Spirit, our love for the great hymns of the faith, our appreciation for the church creeds, and our commitment to using the Bible in our services. We also recognize that zeal and hope characterize those who truly know God. As Psalm 16 reminds us: in God’s presence there is fullness of joy, and at his right hand are pleasures forevermore.
