The Lord’s Day (November 5)
Our study of Covenant Theology takes us to Genesis 8:20-9:17, a common grace covenant.
The children have a class that uses Great Commission Publications curriculum.
Hebrews 4:14-5:10, “A Confident Confession”
Immediately after morning worship, we will have our monthly lunch. Our food theme is soup and salad. Please bring one or both items to share. Of course you may bring sides which accompany our meal.
Afternoon Church Revitalization Video
We will view our last video from the church revitalization conference, From Embers to a Flame.” You’re invited to remain after lunch to join our discussion.

The OPC Short-Term Outreach, Relief, and Missions (S.T.O.R.M) is looking for skilled and unskilled volunteers to help in Houston (Hurricane Harvey) and Key West, FL (Hurricane Irma). Although the help is urgent, they predict that help will be needed for 1-2 years. If you volunteer, you bear all travel and food costs, but housing is available. The Bible study is each Wednesday at 7 pm. We our study on the Ten Commandments called Walking in a Worthy Manner. This week our study is “The First Commandment.” Our goal is to go deep into each commandment seeking to apply it to our lives today. I hope you’ll join us for our Bible study.

Join us November 5 for the last installment of our church revitalization series, From Embers to a Flame. We’ll watch two topics - “The Leadership Dynamic” and “Small Groups.”
On Wednesday, November 8, we’ll host the Presbytery of Ohio’s missionary to Japan, the Rev. Dr. Stewart “Woody” Lauer. Rev. Lauer and his family have been ministering in Japan for over 30 years and he regularly teaches and preaches God’s word. Please join us that evening to hear from a missionary we all support.
The deacons are calling a church work day for Saturday, November 11th from 9-12. There are both indoor and outdoor projects needing to be completed. This is later in the year than we wanted to schedule, so we'll try to have some hot drinks available to help mitigate the colder weather.
The OPC Thank Offering will be on Sunday, November 19. This year the theme is “Delighting in the Lord” (Psalm 37:4). We’ll begin passing out the bulletin inserts explaining the offering on October 22. The offering supports the work of the OPC - Home Missions, Foreign Missions, and Christian Education.
Look for a formal announcement soon. In the mean time, mark your calendar for Sunday, December 3 as the date of our annual stated congregational meeting. It will follow our fellowship lunch and you will have an opportunity to hear the state of the church and review the proposed budget. There is also a time for questions and comments.
