Here are the Good Shepherd OPC announcements for May 21-27, 2018.
The Lord’s Day (May 27)
The class for adults is Reformed Worship. This week our topic is “The Work of the Church.”
The children have two classes that use Great Commission Publications curriculum.
Hebrews 13:18-25, “Closing Words”
Romans 11:25-32, “All Israel Will Be Saved”
Join us for Sunday evening worship at 6 pm.
Join us for Bible study on Wednesday at 7 pm. We begin study on the seventh commandment.
The Session will meet tonight at 6:30 pm.
This summer (June through August), we will suspend our weekly Bible study and have summer home groups. This year we will have two groups, one in the East and one in the West. Our study will be the book, The Gospel Comes with a House Key by Rosaria Butterfield. If you’re planning to attend, you may purchase the book and begin reading or the church will make one order to receive a slight discount.
The evening service will start at 5:30 pm beginning June 10 and running through August 26.
Pastor Chris will be preaching through Proverbs on Sunday mornings during the summer months. For Sunday school, we will examine a topic closely associated with being Reformed: The Spirituality of the Church. It seeks to understand the intersection of the church, the state, and living in both.
Our next fellowship lunch is on June 3. The food theme is “foods you eat at the ball park”.
Looking Ahead with the Presbytery of Ohio and The Machen Retreat and Conference Center:
The committee on Church Home Extension (CHEX) is hosting an Outreach conference on June 23 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Rev. John Shaw, General Secretary of Home Missions, will be the speaker. All are welcome; free registration at http://POHConference-2018.eventbrite.com.
The annual Presbytery of Ohio Youth Camp is July 9-14 for ages 9-18. Brochures are available in the church lobby.
Over the next six months, The Machen Retreat and Conference Center will host various conferences for teens, singles, families, and women. A bulletin insert was provided and there are some in the church lobby. If you would like to participate in one or more of the camps, please pick up a flyer and contact the appropriate person for information and registration.
