Here are your Good Shepherd OPC announcements for January 15-21, 2018.
The Lord’s Day (January 21)
There will be two new adult classes that will run for six weeks.
The first is the “Inquirer’s Class” for all those non-communicant adults and covenant children interested in church membership. The class will run six weeks and begin with the topic, “What is a Christian?”
The second class will be a video lecture with discussion.
The children have a class that uses Great Commission Publications curriculum.
Hebrews 9:1-10, “Approaching God Isn’t Easy”
Romans 7:1-6, “Freed from the Law”
Join us for Sunday evening worship at 6:00 pm.
We continue our Wednesday Bible study, “Walking in a Worthy Manner,” on January 17. We’ll begin the Third Commandment.
Calling all painters! The deacons request help to paint the church meeting room before the new carpet is installed. Anyone interested in helping, please contact either of the deacons (Brian Hopson, email@example.com or Luke Denny (firstname.lastname@example.org). Help is needed on Thursday evening (01/18), Friday evening (01/19), and all day Saturday (01/20). The church will provide painting gear, but you’re welcome to bring your own.
Please also note that the church will need help to remove the current chairs and install the new chairs when they arrive. The specific days are contingent on the carpet installation.
Pastor Chris will teach an Inquirer’s Class beginning Sunday, January 21 and running for six weeks during Sunday school. All covenant children and non-member adults are invited to attend. Each student will receive a book for attending the class. If you’re interested in communicant membership, please make every effort to join the class.
The Session meets on Tuesday, January 23 at 6:30 pm.
The next fellowship lunch will be Sunday, February 4 after the morning worship service. Our food theme is Soup and Salad (Soup or Bowl of Salad!). Evening worship will be at 2:00 pm.
The Stated Congregational Meeting Minutes are available. Please pick up your copy on the counter when you enter the church.
