The Lord’s Day (September 13)
The adult Sunday school class is viewing the teaching “Angels and Demons” by Dr. R. C. Sproul. Here is the class summary for Part 7, “The Adversary” from the Ligonier website. “Is the devil a real person or a mythological personification of evil? Unfortunately, many people have no biblical idea of who and what the devil really is. Is he everywhere? Does he know everything? How much power does he have? These are just a few of the questions Dr. Sproul considers in this message, as he looks to Scripture for the truth about the person, nature, and powers of the devil, and how Christians ought to live in a world with ‘The Adversary’.”
There are two children’s classes; both use the Great Commission Publications curriculum, Show Me Jesus.
We press on through the book of Hosea. Remember that the two prominent themes are the people of God as unfaithful bride and wayward son. Not only do we see the results of failing, but also how we should act in proper relationship. Our text is Hosea 6:11-7:16 and the title is “Images of Judgment” The New Testament lesson is Romans 14:13-23.
We continue our study in 2 Thessalonians. The text is 2 Thessalonians 1:3-4, “Thanksgiving.”
