Here are your Good Shepherd OPC announcements and worship helps for the week of July 6-12, 2015.
If you have a prayer request, please forward it to Pastor Chris to be included in the congregational prayer on Sunday morning or evening.
The Lord’s Day (July 12)
Elder Chris Crandall teaches part three of his three week study on Peter.
There are two children’s classes; both use the Great Commission Publications curriculum, Show Me Jesus.
We begin a new study in the prophetic book of Hosea, a near contemporary of Amos. Hosea had a long ministry, possibly fifty years from the middle of the eighth century BC until near century’s end. We will look at 1:1, “Hosea’s World.” The New Testament lesson is Romans 11:25-36.
We come to the ethical section of 1 Thessalonians which is likened to a walk or journey. This oft used Scriptural metaphor speaks of the Christian life as a progression through time and space. Certainly it cuts against any notions of immediate sanctification or second blessing. Our text is 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12, “The Will of God for You: Brotherly Love.”
Sunday Evening worship is at 6 pm. If you have a psalm or hymn request, please forward it to Pastor Chris. Remember, you may go online to look at both the psalms and the proposed hymns for requests.
Wednesday Night Adult Bible Study: Christianity Explored, is an eight week video led study and gospel presentation of the Gospel of Mark. We have light refreshments, discussion, and study. We meet from 6:30-8:00. Invite a friend.
Wednesday Night Children’s Ministry. They will walk through half of Great Commission Publications’ A Pilgrim’s Progress. Each participant receives an abridged, modern edition of A Pilgrim’s Progress and a map. They meet from 6:30-8:00 pm.
Session will meet on July 9 at 6:30 pm for a called meeting to discuss our current state and to strategize about our future.
On July 19 during Sunday School, we will have an informal congregational meeting to apprise the congregation of our current state and plan for the future.
The next fellowship lunch is scheduled for Sunday, August 9, immediately after morning worship. The theme will be announced.
Mark your calendar for August 30, the next fifth Sunday month. We will meet with Redeemer OPC in Beavercreek for a joint service. It begins at 6 pm and our evening service is cancelled.
Here is temporary contact information for Mr. George Johnston: his email is email@example.com and his mobile phone number is 513-702-6347. Until further notice, these are the two ways he may be contacted.
