Here are your Good Shepherd OPC announcements and worship helps for the week of February 9-15, 2015.
A Call to Prayer (Wednesdays at 7 pm)
Join us for an hour of prayer this and every Wednesday evening from 7-8 pm. This is a good chance to minister to one another in love through prayer. If you have a prayer request, please forward it to Pastor Chris by Wednesday afternoon to be included in the prayer meeting.
The Lord’s Day (February 15)
Pastor Chris is teaching through the Westminster Confession of Faith. This week we’ll finish chapter one, Of Holy Scripture. Please read the Westminster Confession of Faith chapter 1 and its proof texts in preparation for class. Our study is called “Knowing What You Believe.”
There are two children’s classes; both use the Great Commission Publications curriculum.
We pick up the life and times of Jonah. This week Jonah is in Nineveh and preaching God’s message of judgment and mercy. The sermon text is Jonah 3:3b-10, “Man About Town.” The New Testament lesson is Romans 3:21-31.
Our evening worship study is through the ordinary means of grace – the Word of God preached, the sacraments, and prayer. Having completed the first and second means of grace, we’ll slowly work through prayer. This week we’ll examine WSC 98, “The Incense of Prayer.” Our text is Psalm 10:17.
