Here are your Good Shepherd OPC announcements and worship helps for the week of June 5-11, 2017.
If you have a prayer request, please forward it to Pastor Chris to be included in the congregational prayer on Sunday morning or evening.
The Lord’s Day (June 11)
We bring our study on sanctification: War of a Lifetime to an end.
The children have a class that uses Great Commission Publications curriculum.
Mr. Alex Eppstein will conduct the service and preach.
Evening worship is canceled. We will watch the fifth session of the From Embers to a Flame Conference: Strategy 4, “Personal Spiritual Formation” at 2 pm. Please join us as we seek ways to revitalize the church.
The evening worship for June 11 is canceled. The evening service for June 18 will be replaced with a prayer meeting to begin at 6 pm. Join us for an hour of prayer.
The Bible Study is each Wednesday at 7 pm. We are studying what is sometimes considered the silent Person of the Trinity - the Holy Spirit, using a Puritan Paperback abridged version of John Owen’s The Holy Spirit. This book has been abridged and modernized for grammar and language so as to make it “easy to read.”
Join us for our June fellowship lunch on Sunday, June 11 after the morning service. Our theme is Tex-Mex again this month. Please bring a main or side dish to share with others. We will have a cake as part of a farewell to the Eppstein family.
This month’s lunch is our farewell lunch for the Eppstein family. We rejoice with Alex for his call to be the pastor of Bethel Reformed Presbyterian Church (Sparta IL). He will be ordained and installed on Sunday, July 2 at 5pm (CDT).
Following our fellowship meal, we’ll watch the fifth session of the From Embers to a Flame Conference: Strategy 4, “Personal Spiritual Formation”.
Pastor Chris will be away for the week of June 12-18. Pastor Leo Frailey will fill the pulpit for the morning service. There will be a prayer meeting at 6 pm in lieu of the evening service.
The Session meets on June 29 at 6:30 pm.
New Song, a singing group from Geneva College (Beaver Falls PA), will be in concert at Good Shepherd on Tuesday, Jul 11 at 7 pm. There is no cost and it is a great opportunity to invite your friends to the church. We will have a church-wide dinner at 5 pm with the group. If you are interested in hosting one or more of the twelve students, for one night’s lodging, please tell Pastor Chris.
