Here are your Good Shepherd OPC announcements and worship helps for the week of June 26-July 2, 2017.
If you have a prayer request, please forward it to Pastor Chris to be included in the congregational prayer on Sunday morning or evening. The Lord’s Day (July 2) Sunday School In Reformed circles, the doctrine of original sin has often been described by the phrase “total depravity.” That it’s called “total depravity” is explained in one sense because the letter “T” fits so neatly into the historic acrostic TULIP, which defines the so-called “five points of Calvinism.” We’ll talk about the first of the Doctrines of Grace, Total Depravity. The children have a class that uses Great Commission Publications curriculum. Morning Worship Acts 27:27-44, The Shipwreck Fellowship Meal After the morning service, join us for a fellowship meal. Our theme is picnic foods, so please bring something associated with a picnic. We’ll pull out the church grill if any would like to bring hot dogs or hamburgers. From Embers to a Flame At 2pm we’ll watch and discuss the 6 installment of the church revitalization ministry. If you are interested in seeing our church revitalized, please join us. Evening Worship The evening service is canceled. Announcements Our evening worship service is canceled. After the morning service, join us for a fellowship meal. The Bible Study is each Wednesday at 7 pm. We are studying the Holy Spirit, using a Puritan Paperback abridged version of John Owen’s The Holy Spirit. This book has been abridged and modernized for grammar and language so as to make it “easy to read.” Read chapter 7 for this week. The Session meets on June 29 at 6:30 pm. New Song, a singing group from Geneva College (Beaver Falls PA), will be in concert at Good Shepherd on Tuesday, Jul 11 at 7 pm. There is no cost and it is a great opportunity to invite your friends to the church. We will have a church-wide dinner at 5 pm with the group. If you are interested in hosting one or more of the twelve students, for one night’s lodging, please tell Pastor Chris.
