The Lord’s Day (May 22)
We continue our study of Westminster Confession of Faith, chapter 2, Of God and Of the Holy Trinity. We will discuss God’s independence in paragraph 2.
There are two children’s classes which use Great Commission Publications curriculum.
The Book of Acts is often outlined by the movement of the gospel into all the world. Acts 8:1a ends the first section of the book, the gospel in Jerusalem. With Stephen’s martyrdom, Christians are scattered into Judea and Samaria, bringing the gospel to the next two places in Jesus’s commission in Acts 1:8. This week we’ll examine Acts 8:1b-13, “Scattering with Proclamation.”
Mr. Alex Eppstein continues his series on Jesus’s “I AM” sayings in the Gospel of John. This week, we look at John 11:17-27, “I Am the Resurrection and the Life.”
The prayer meeting is canceled for May 18. We’ll resume next week.
The session meets on Wednesday, May 18 at 6:30 pm.
The women are postponing their Bible study until September.
To help the Crandalls ready their house for sale, we will have a work day at their house on Saturday, May 21 beginning at 9 am. Call the church for directions should you need them.
Mr. Alex Eppstein will preach for the Sunday evening service.
The Deacons have called for a church work day on Saturday, May 28 beginning at 9 am. We will clean up the outside of the building – pull weeds and plant flowers – and do some indoor spring cleaning. This is a great opportunity to serve the church and fellowship with brothers and sisters.
We will join Redeemer OPC in Beavercreek for a joint service on May 29 at 5:30 pm with refreshments following the service.
The next fellowship lunch is scheduled for Sunday, June 5, immediately after morning worship. The theme is picnic foods.
The General Assembly is the governing body of the whole church and the highest court of appeal in judicial matters. It consists of approximately 150 voting commissioners, including the moderator and stated clerk of the previous assembly and ministers and ruling elders commissioned by their presbyteries. The 83nd GA is called to meet at Sandy Cove Conference Center, North East, Maryland, from June 8–14, 2016.
