Here are the Good Shepherd OPC announcements for September 24-30, 2018.

The evening service at Good Shepherd is moved to Redeemer OPC in Beavercreek. We’ll join with the saints at Redeemer for a joint service.
We resume our Bible study on Wednesday (09/26) at 7 pm. We’re studying Jesus’s Kingdom Parables from Matthew 13 as a compliment to our study of 1 Samuel. This week we’ll look at the Parable of the Good Seed and Weeds (Matthew 13:24-30) and Jesus’s interpretation.
We will meet at Redeemer OPC in Beavercreek on Sunday, September 30, 2018 for our evening worship service. That service begins at 5:30 pm. The address is 22 South Fairfield Rd. Beavercreek OH 45440.
The next fellowship lunch is Sunday, October 7 after the morning worship. The food theme is Octoberfest foods. If you happen to make something that is gluten free, dairy free, free of both, or free of some other allergen, please make a small sign that indicates so.
Beginning October 7, we will begin a catechetical sermon series through the Westminster Shorter Catechism in our evening worship.
The October 7 evening service is at 2:00 pm.
The Presbytery of Ohio’s Women’s Retreat at Camp Akita (Logan, OH) is October 12-13. Flyers are available in the church lobby. Please contact Sarah Taylor with questions.
Covenant Presbyterian Church will be providing a free conference on the theme of the covenants of the Bible. We'll have Dennis Johnson coming, Professor Emeritus of Practical Theology from Westminster Seminary California. For those who are unfamiliar with him, he is a wonderful biblical theologian who has written books such as Him We Proclaim: Preaching Christ from All the Scriptures (P&R: 2007). He will combine deep biblical insight with practical and pastoral reflections suitable for all Christians. WHERE: Covenant Presbyterian Church, 101 E National Rd, Vandalia, OH 45377 WHEN: Fri Sept 28 7:15-8:20pm; Sat Sept 29 9am-2pm No registration necessary.
The Presbytery of Ohio (POH) will meet on Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Grace OPC (Sewickley PA).
A request from Rev. Dr. L. Charles Jackson (formerly of Covenant OPC, Vandalia): Hello from Mbale, Uganda. I have spoken to a few folks here and there in the POH, but I wanted to put out the word more broadly and officially to the POH that we (Jacksons) will be needing a vehicle next year August 2019-Feb 2020 for our furlough. We will be staying in Dayton, Ohio. If anyone or any diaconate in the presbytery can help us find a reliable, decent car to use while on furlough we would appreciate it so much. It looks like we have a place to stay that is furnished so finding a car is the next important item. We’ll only be home 6-7 months and we plan to use a car to travel around Ohio, western PA as well as other states while visiting churches so it will need to be reliable. Thanks and God bless.
