The Lord’s Day (May 5)
Our class is called “God’s Word is a Lamp: Learning to Study God’s Word.” This week: “Epistles and Apocalyptic.”
The children have two classes that use Great Commission Publications curriculum.
1 Samuel 27:1-28:2, Living with the Enemy
All are invited to our monthly fellowship lunch after the morning service. Our food theme is Tex-Mex. Please bring a dish to share.
Ephesians 2:8, Irresistible Grace (WSC 30-31)
Join us for our fellowship lunch immediately after morning worship. Please bring a Tex-Mex or Mexican food dish to share.
The evening worship service is at 2:00 pm.
The Wednesday study will be on hiatus until late spring when we’ll return for the annual home group/summer study.
The Deacons have called for a work day on Saturday, May 4 at 9 am. Because most of the work will be outside and limited to a few important projects, please be aware that inclement weather may postpone our work day. Two main tasks will be cleaning up the flower bed areas to spread mulch, trim the hedges, pull weeds, etc. Please bring appropriate tools: wheelbarrow, gardening tools, shovels, rakes, work gloves, etc.
Our next fellowship lunch is Sunday, May 5 after the morning service. Our food theme is Mexican/Tex-Mex. Please bring a main dish or side dish to share.
The Session will meet on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 pm.
The Committee on Foreign Missions has appointed Dr. Jim and Jenny Knox as Missionary Associates for two years to Mbale to work with the OPC Uganda Mission alongside the Jacksons and the Tuiningas. They will be presenting their work on Wednesday, May 22 at 7:00 pm. Please join us to hear of their work and how you may support their work financially and through prayer.
Please keep the upcoming OPC General Assembly (June 5-11) in prayer. About 200 commissioners, fraternal delegates, permanent committee members, and support staff will be traveling to Dallas for our annual meeting.
New Song, the a Capella singing group from Geneva College will return for a concert on Monday, June 24. Details will follow. We are asked to host the students for a night. If you would be interested, let an elder know.
On July 8-13, 2019, the Presbytery of Ohio will have its annual youth summer camp. Brochures with detailed information, speakers, topics, costs, etc. are available at the church. Scholarships are available for those in need.
All women in the church: Save the date. The Presbytery of Ohio’s Women’s Retreat is on September 27-28, 2019 at Camp Akita. Mrs. Diane Olinger is the speaker.
