Here are your Good Shepherd OPC announcements for December 18-24, 2017.
The Lord’s Day (December 24)
We consider the Davidic covenant.
The children have a class that uses Great Commission Publications curriculum.
We will use the Definition of Chalcedon for our Confession of Faith. This confession deals with the Christ’s incarnation. If you have opportunity review it this week. The sermon text and title for Sunday is Luke 1:68-80, “The Joy of Christmas.”
In place of our regularly scheduled evening worship, we will have a service of Lessons and Carols which will begin at 5:30 pm.
Join us for the Sunday evening service of Lessons and Carols at 5:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend to hear the Christmas story.
We continue our Bible study through the Ten Commandments on Wednesday evenings. Our next study is on the Second Commandment, “The Right God, the Right Way.” We’ll examine the Scriptures and have discussion. Join us as we dig deep. There is no Bible study on December 26.
Join us on Christmas Eve for Lessons and Carols at 5:30 PM. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbors. The course of the meeting is to read and sing through creation, fall, and redemption, with particular focus on Christ and his incarnation. Pastor Chris will give a brief exhortation, calling all to faith, at the conclusion.
Please remember to deliver you Angel Tree gifts this week. If you can, include an invitation to Sunday morning and evening worship.
The Stated Congregational Meeting Minutes are available. Please pick up your copy on the counter when you enter the church.
Pastor Chris will be away on December 31. A guest minister will preach. The evening service is canceled.
The next fellowship lunch will be Sunday, January 7 after the morning worship service. Our food theme is comfort foods. Our evening service will be at 2:00 pm, following our meal.
We will have a joint evening worship service on January 14 with Grace Bible Presbyterian Church. Refreshments will follow.
Expect new carpet, chairs, and a fresh coat of paint soon - probably January.
