Here are your Good Shepherd OPC announcements and worship helps for the week of March 23-29, 2015.
A Call to Prayer (Wednesdays at 7 pm)
Join us for an hour of prayer this and every Wednesday evening from 7-8 pm. This is a good chance to minister to one another in love through prayer. If you have a prayer request, please forward it to Pastor Chris by Wednesday afternoon to be included in the prayer meeting.
The Lord’s Day (March 29)
We take a break from our Knowing What You Believe study to have a “Missions Sunday”. Pastor Chris will introduce our missionaries and hand out prayer cards and maps to give you guidance for your prayers. On April 5, Mr. Alex Eppstein will begin an eight week study on the Gospel of Mark. During the summer, we will have three or four short classes, which we will soon announce.
There are two children’s classes; both use the Great Commission Publications curriculum, Show Me Jesus.
The passage for this week, Amos 3:1-8, is a defense of the necessity of doomsaying to people who only want to hear soothing words. Through a series of rhetorical questions (all to be answered “no”) and a reminder of His covenant and by implication, its stipulations, God assures Israel that Amos’ words of prophecy will come to pass. The title is “The Surety of God’s Word.” Our New Testament lesson is Romans 6:15-23.
Our evening worship is moved from our building to Redeemer OPC in Beavercreek (22 S Fairfield Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45440). We will gather for fellowship at 5 pm and we’ve been asked to bring finger foods to share. Worship proper begins at 6 pm with Mr. Alex Eppstein preaching.
Wednesday Prayer at 7 PM, each Wednesday.
Sunday Evening worship has been moved to Redeemer OPC in Beavercreek. Fellowship begins at 5 p.m.; please bring a finger food to share. The service is at 6 p.m. with Mr. Alex Eppstein preaching.
The Women's Bible Study is meets each Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Miller’s house.
The men will meet on March 28 at 8 am at the church for another breakfast and study. Please invite a friend and read Ordinary, chapters 4-6.
Good Shepherd and Redeemer OPC will have a joint evening worship service on Sunday, March 29. Please bring a finger food to share at 5 pm; the service will be at 6 pm with Mr. Alex Eppstein preaching. The evening service here is canceled.
The next fellowship lunch is scheduled for Sunday, April 5, immediately after morning worship. The theme is brunch foods. Our evening service will be at 2 pm.
The deacons have scheduled a work day for Saturday, April 18 from 9 am until 1 pm. There will be indoor and outdoor work for skilled and unskilled laborers.
If you would like to be a part of or would like more information about the Presbytery of Ohio’s disaster response team, please speak with one of the deacons, Mr. Brian Hopson or Mr. Luke Denny.
