The Lord’s Day (September 11)
The Fall Sunday school class is called “The Promise of the Future.” Our study will focus on the doctrine of last things or more formally, eschatology. We will distinguish between personal and cosmic eschatology, examine the Old and New Testament’s teachings on last things, look at different millennial views, and learn of Jesus’s teaching in Matthew 24 and its parallels Mark and Luke. The topic this week is the way the Old and New Testaments approach the subject of last things.
There are two children’s classes which use Great Commission Publications curriculum.
Acts 13:1-12, “Paul and Barnabas Sent”
Matthew 6:11-15, “Prayer and Our Needs”
Our evening worship is at 6:00 pm. Please invite a friend.
We are taking officer nominations during September.
We will begin our Fall Bible Study weekly on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm beginning on September 14 at the church. Our study will be through the Old Testament books of Judges and Ruth. Invite a friend.
A special two day seminar for the church: Spiritual Foundations for Biblical Church Health, featuring Rev. Lynn Downing of Briarwood PCA in Birmingham AL. Please join us on September 17-18 for this seminar as it lays the groundwork for encouraging every member of Good Shepherd OPC to intentionally pursue biblical church health and vitality so that the church body can do the same. It’s time to go back to the basics, focusing on Christ, His grace, and our relationship to the church. There will be a catered lunch on Saturday and a covered dish lunch on Sunday. Please sign up in the church lobby.
