A Call to Prayer (Wednesdays at 7 pm)
Join us for an hour of prayer this and every Wednesday evening from 7-8 pm. This is a good chance to minister to one another in love through prayer. If you have a prayer request, please forward it to Pastor Chris by Wednesday afternoon to be included in the prayer meeting.
The Lord’s Day (December 7, 2014)
Mr. Brian Hopson continues his class on Ecclesiastes for the month of December.
There are two children’s classes; both use the Great Commission Publications curriculum.
For our second infancy hymn, we’ll look at Zechariah’s song in Luke 1:68-80. He also praises the Lord for a rescuer from enemies and an acknowledgement of God’s faithfulness to his covenant. The Old Testament lesson is Leviticus 23:23-44.
The evening service is canceled this week. We will pick up our study of the Westminster Shorter Catechism on January 4, 2015 with question and answer 89.
Wednesday Prayer at 7 PM, each Wednesday.
Sunday Evening worship is at 6 p.m. If you have a hymn or psalm request, please send it to me for our hymn sing. The evening service is canceled this week.
The Women's Bible Study is every Tuesday at 10 a. m. at the church. All women are welcome.
The officer nominees will meet with the Session this evening for a final exam and review. Please pray for us.
The next fellowship lunch is Sunday, December 7, immediately after morning worship. The first Sunday is a good time to invite a friend and have him or her remain for lunch. The theme is Christmas style foods.
The Session notifies you that all members of Good Shepherd OPC are called to the annual congregational meeting on Sunday, December 7, to be held after the fellowship meal. We will begin the meeting at 2 p.m. The deacons will present the budget and the elders will make an update on the church. Lord willing, we will be considering two men for the office of elder. Please plan to attend that day.
The Men’s Study and Breakfast will meet on Saturday, December 13, at 8 a. m. at the Tri-County Panera Bread. We will end our study from The Masculine Mandate by discussing chapters 12-13. All men are invited. Our next book is Ordinary by Michael Horton.
We are sponsoring Angel Tree children this year. Please pick up your child’s name and sign up to bring something for the party. Like last year, we’ll have a brief service following a meal and some fellowship time on December 14. Let’s make every effort to welcome our guests and share the love of the Lord with them.
An OPC Missionary and his family will present their work on December 21 at 4:30 p.m. Please bring a light refreshment or finger food to share for a 5:30 p.m. fellowship with them. He will preach at the evening service.
On February 6-7, Good Shepherd OPC and Westside Reformed Church will co-sponsor a winter conference called Reformed in America.
